Why SSNW Was Chosen As The ERP Implementation Consultant
Biamp is a leading provider of media systems and offers some of the most powerful audiovisual installations on the market. Consistently producing sophisticated, high-quality products, Biamp quickly grew into an international company. Wanting to continue its rapid growth, Biamp realized its previous setup wouldn’t accommodate its business goals and needed a more robust ERP system that could integrate each segment. As with most companies, the homegrown, custom software that was built for the company could no longer support the operations.
Using Material Requirements Planning software, which recommended building products to meet demand or buying materials to have the necessary supply, Biamp gained tremendous value when they integrated their inventory onto a single platform. In addition to this software, Biamp wanted an ERP that would work well with its Lean Manufacturing software. The choice for Dynamics AX 2012 (a precursor to the more robust Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations) was the natural choice because of its easy integration with eBecs for lean manufacturing and Experlogicx for a CPQ configurator. After performing a 90-day proof of concept, SSNW was hired for the implementation.

SSNW’s work with Biamp showcased our consultant's expertise in the software and knowledge of the specific manufacturing requirements to support Biamp’s business needs without significant modifications.
Our work was successful and led to a second phase project integrating Biamp’s acquisition of Apart Audio, based in Antwerp, Belgium.
BIAMP Expands Dynamics Footprint
In the subsequent acquisitions that Biamp made after implementing AX to their core business, SSNW helped convert Apart Audio, based in Antwerp, Belgium onto AX. Having proven we had the capabilities of converting a client’s acquisition onto the main platform and guiding clients to expanding their business globally, our team of business analysts and developers were ripe for the job.
Apart Audio wasn’t a manufacturing company but held warehouses and traded throughout Europe. Biamp wanted to manufacture their products and then store and sell them in this new territory, using the company's structure and assets as a sort of 3PL. [link to 3pl blog]. Given the different languages and countries involved, the work to integrate Biamp’s newly acquired company with D365 Finance and Operations was extensive and nuanced.
Strategic Solutions NW’s Actions in Dynamics Implementation:
Helped Biamp configure their system in support of the new European regulations.
Helped configure how their sales team would be divided and how commissioning in the new territory would work.
Held a Kaizen event to help streamline sales confirmation process
Customized Available-to-promise software
Configured all intercompany transactions between European and US companies
Configured and maintained Experlogix to help companies with complex configuration capabilities
Outcomes of SSNW’s ERP implementation for Apart Audio:
Implementation of Esker to dramatically decrease time in sales order confirmation process by 80%
Automatically create sales orders based off emails containing a purchase document
Biamp was able to store and sell their products throughout Europe
Using AX inventory management and supply chain capabilities, Biamp was able to utilize its new visibility to maximize the value from acquiring Apart Audio
